The two sides had in-depth exchanges on the ongoing Uruguay 500kV ring network power transmission and generation project and the clean energy cooperation.
GM Fang welcomed Ambassador Lugris and general manager Brusco and thanked UTE and the Uruguayan embassy in China for their long-standing support and assistance to Uruguay’s 500kV power project and CMEC Group.
Mr. Fang introduced CMEC Group’s business and characteristics as well as the progress of Uruguay’s 500kV power project. Ambassador Lugris and general manager Brusco expressed their thanks to CMEC Group for warm reception and recognized the implementation of the current 500kV electricity project. Meanwhile, they stressed the importance of this energy project as a strategic one facilitated by the Uruguayan government, the largest infrastructure project since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the first China-Uruguay cooperation project under the Belt and Road Initiative.
